Habeas Corpus

12th - 16th April 2016

Alan Bennett’s Habeas Corpus was originally performed in the 1970s, and is a proper old-fashioned farce, with mistaken identities, dropped trousers, a pair of false boobs, and lots of lust – what was it exactly that went on in Liverpool during the blitz?

In the affectionate tradition of the Carry On Films and  McGill’s saucy seaside postcards, but with the acerbity and wit of Alan Bennett’s writing, this play focuses on the life and loves of the Wicksteed family in Brighton’s silk stocking district of Hove, where (possibly) he whose lust lasts, lasts longest!
